The Allen-Forrester Band is a Blues and Rock band founded by New York guitarists Josh Allen and Ben Forrester. Inspired by the pioneers of the genre like The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes, and Blackberry Smoke, they put a new spin on the classic twin guitar sound and have combined their influences into a stirring mix of straight forward Blues Rock and melodic, song-oriented American Rock. 

Their live shows are not only a showcase of sophisticated guitar riffs and Josh’s weathered, bluesy voice, but also of the entire band’s joy of playing and improvising. The German rhythm section consisting of Hendrik Herder on bass and Matthias Böhm on drums complete the modern, yet timeless retro sound of the band. 

Their Debut Album will be released on April 21, 2023 and will be available for Pre-ordered & Purchase through our Webshop, and retailers (distributed through Time Zone Records). In May following the release, the band will embark on their 4th European Tour – a must see for fans of real American Blues and Rock!

Knock Me Down:

• Opening track of the album that sets the tone for the Band’s Motto “Straight Forward American Blues Rock”

• Starting directly with the pounding drum groove from Matthias Böhm, the track offers what every guitarists heart desires: a rude slide guitar riff followed by the classic live moment where solos are traded between Josh Allen and Ben Forrester

• Also featured on the track is the Australian soul singer, Jade MacRae, who can also be seen on tour with Blues Rock Titan Joe Bonamassa or the legendary Australian Rocker Jimmy Barnes

Phases Of The Moon:

• The emotional highlight of the album

• Written by Ben Forrester alongside his wife, Eva Forrester, 5 years ago. The main music of the song was composed by Ben and the lyrics were written by Eva, with the focus being their story of living in a long distance relationship between New York and Germany. The song climaxes with a singing and soulful guitar solo from Ben Forrester

• The track features a beautiful Gospel-like intro on the Hammond B3 by the rising star in the Jazz community, Simon Oslender, who presents that he is also a fantastic Blues Musician

Soundtrack Of My Summer:

• This track was written as a dedication to Josh Allen and Ben Forrester’s home, Long Island, New York

• The two guitarists met as teenagers at a longstanding weekend Jam Session at the Brickhouse Brewery (Patchogue, New York), where they first shared the stage together

• The Song is written about a typical weekend on a Long Island during the summer (from early morning fishing trips, evening campfires on the beach, to the Brickhouse Jam), as well as paying homage to their musical influences, starting with of course, The Allman Brothers Band, to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Merle Haggard
